About Me
Hi, I'm Allison.
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist, MSW, LCSW
Who I Am
I’m Allison, a licensed therapist based in North Charlotte. I earned my undergraduate degree in Social Work from UNC Charlotte and went on to complete my graduate training at UNC Chapel Hill and I’ve spent the more than two decades since then deepening that foundation through clinical work, advanced training, and a genuine commitment to growing as a practitioner.
Outside the Therapy Room
When I’m not with clients, you’ll likely find me on my yoga mat, playing with my dogs, or planning my next trip somewhere new, fun and exciting.
Yoga taught me a lot of what I believe about healing; that the body keeps its own record of what we’ve been through, and that breath and stillness can reach places words can’t. My dogs keep me present in a simpler way. And travel keeps me curious, which I think makes me a better therapist than any single training ever could.
Those things aren’t separate from the work I do. They’re part of how I stay grounded, present, and human.
I think it matters that the person sitting across from you has a full life too, and I’m happy to be a therapist who doesn’t hide that.

My Approach
I think of therapy as a collaboration. You are the expert on your own life. I’m here to help you make sense of it, sit with the hard parts, and find your way through.
My approach is integrative, which means I don’t follow a single rigid method. Instead, I draw from a range of evidence-based practices; EMDR, somatic therapy, mindfulness and breathwork, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, attachment theory, and psychodynamic work and I tailor what we do to what you actually need.
Who I Work With
I offer individual therapy and group therapy. I work with individuals and I don’t currently provide couples or teen therapy.
